Conservatives plan for a brand new Secondary school

Parents are increasingly worried about the lack of school places in the Borough with an ever increasing number of residential developments in Trafford. The Conservatives are pledged to fix this by building a brand new secondary school in Sale to help cope with demand.

Since Labour took control of the Council in 2018, they have had over £30 million from the Government for new school places, some of which has gone on Portakabins on school playgrounds.

Conservatives believe Labour are failing to provide the new school places as they continue to encourage development of more homes without the infrastructure to go with them. People need homes but families also need schools and more by way of infrastructure. It is unacceptable for Planning reports in Trafford to be suggesting that children can go to schools outside of the Borough.

Any new school would need to be a Free School or an Academy which would put it outside Council control and so it is unlikely to have Labour support.
